9/5 Gi recap

This class was all about armbars. First we looked at a basic armbar from guard, but more importantly talked about how to finish that armbar when your opponent stacks you. The following video is pretty good despite the fact that I have no idea what he is saying.

Next we talked about an armbar from top turtle. You will notice a similar finishing position to the technique above. We recently went over this technique in Sambo class, so here is that same video again.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructional from LCCT Black Belt James Peterson from Fox Valley Grappling Club in Appleton, Wisconsin. www.foxvalleygrapplingclub.com Fox Valley Grappling Club in Appleton, Wisconsin is the best training facility in the area for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Muay Thai Kickboxing, kids martial arts classes, and fitness.

Last we looked at a 'falling armbar' that I prefer over a true flying armbar. We did this both kneeling and standing.

www.TrainFightWin.com This is a variation of a flying armbar, and is consists of more "falling" than "flying" for the setup.

As a bonus, here is an old video of me hitting this technique back in my blue belt days.
