My name is Blair Turton. I have been grappling for more than a decade and was awarded the rank of black belt in Jiu Jitsu under Ritchie Yip and Pacific Top Team in the summer of 2017. I have practiced both boxing and kickboxing for almost as many years. When approaching my black belt I began expanding into different expressions of grappling under the guidance of Reilly Bodycomb and am now an associated professor for his Rdojo multidisciplinary system. I have since trained and competed in Sport Sambo and Combat Wrestling, winning international medals in both. Additionally, I am a certified personal trainer offering instruction with kettlebell, free weight, and Olympic lifting.

The practice of martial arts is dangerous, not only to yourself but also to others. I have a firm policy of against unjustified violence. As a result, I will not teach anyone who’s judgement on the use of force I feel is in question.

I provide one on one fitness lessons at Thunder and Lightning Athletic Club in Vancouver BC. The gym is located in the basement of the United Kingdom Building on the South West corner of Granville and Hastings. Please use the street entrance, a stairway leading down, located between the United Kingdom buildings main entrance and the Railtown Cafe.
