private Lessons

Private lessons are available for Jiu Jitsu, Sambo, wrestling, striking, and strength and conditioning. They can be one on one, or small group.

Who benefits from private lessons?

  • New students who are nervous about joining the group class. Some people are worried about an old injury and want to test the water, others just don't want to feel unprepared when the join the group. Either way, private lessons can help ease you to combat sports.

  • Experienced grapplers who feel like they are lagging behind in a specific area. Lots of BJJ players are great on the ground but don't have a plan while standing. Many wrestlers want to get quickly up to speed on submissions. A package of private lessons can be tailored to focused on what ever you might need.

  • People preparing for a competition that want a more focused and critical eye. Group classes offer lots of partners and different looks, but the instructors attention needs to be split among everyone. Private lessons can help highlight your strengths and address your weaknesses.

  • People who's schedule doesn't allow them to get to as many group classes as they want. Private lessons can often be booked at times standard classes are not feasible.

  • People who love their current club but are seeking to add a different perspective.

Potential topics include:

  • Building a takedown blueprint.

  • Building a Guard passing funnel system.

  • Defining and sharpening your competition "A game."

  • Identifing and addressing mistakes and bad habits.

  • How to get quickly adjusted to new rules after a belt promotion or for a move to a new martial art style.

  • Creating a strength and conditioning plan to support your on the mat goals.

  • Post competition analysis to get the most out of your experience, win or lose.

  • Anything else you might want!

The practice of martial arts is dangerous, not only to yourself but also to others. I have a firm policy against unjustified violence. As a result, I will not teach anyone who’s judgement on the use of force I feel is in question.

Pricing

Training packages are discounted based on the size of the commitment. Rates begin at $90.00 per hour for singles and $120.00 for couples. I prefer clients to have a clear timeline for training before purchasing. It is best to know how often you can get in before committing to a package. Once we have a good idea of scheduling we will choose the package that's right for you. Don't see an option that's appropriate? Let me know and we will sort it out. Special circumstances can be considered. What’s more, in an effort acknowledge the struggles facing communities of colour in this country, I offer my services on a ‘pay what you want’ basis for those forced to live with racial discrimination. If I can help you feel safer in an unsafe world, I would like to do so. Please use the contact tab to reach out.

When purchasing training you are making a commitment to both me and yourself. The discounts afforded for buying larger packages are designed to reflect your intention to train more frequently, not a desire to stretch training out for a longer period of time. As a result, all sessions must be used within three months of the purchase date. Please plan accordingly.
