It’s been a while but, I actually have footage for this recap so I thought I would get it out. There is still a massive info dump coming soon to get caught up on much of the recent material though so keep an eye out.
As a jumping off point we started with these series of attacks off the collar from Knee on Belly. It starts with a loop choke, then moves to a baseball bat choke, then a Darce variation, and lastly an armbar. This video is from 6 years ago, when my belt was a shade lighter and my hair was a few shades darker.
After this, we redid all the chokes with the skirt grip variation. everything is the same but stronger when done with the skirt. To start we dig out the tail end of the far side lapel. Then we pass it behind the head, and grip it instead of the collar. Everything else proceeds as above. If we are trying to hit the Darce choke there will be a second hand off. Our choking hand goes through the armpit and out the neck like all Darce chokes. and should look like this.
We did the same sequence from knee on belly, side control, half guard, and even bottom closed guard. I will try to add the last to the list of things to film this weekend. Hope this helped. See you on the mats
