We started the class going over Morote Seoi Nage again. See the last Sambo post here for details on that. Then we talked about chaining that with a lifting sleeve hip throw in the other direction. This throw is called Sode Tsuri Komi Goshi. Here is some Japanese judokas speaking Japanese and doing judo.

After the standing version of the throw, we looked at a more common version for Sambo in which we finish with a forward roll. The standing version risks our opponent landing on their feet, the rolling version ensure they find their back.
Check out this sweet technique! Shot at Reilly Bodycomb's 3-day Rdojo camp at the Garden State Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy.
Also, just because it was supposed to be one of her favourite throws, here is Ronda Rousey doing the same thing.
From Issue 12 of Jiu Jitsu Magazine Unless you've been living under a rock these days, you probably know who Ronda Rousey is. Just in case you have been residing under ground (maybe you were intent on the Mayan's being correct), let me fill you in on Ronda's story.
