I have been getting a lot of questions about gear. I would like to put together another group order soon but I thought I would list the options here and we can decide where to order from. Feel free to order on your own if you don’t want to wait for me to sort out the logistical nightmare that is getting you animals on the same page.
Krepish Ya - My gear is made by Krepish ya. I love my shoes, although I bought them on ebay because I didn’t see the two color version on the site. I love the fit on my jackets although the colour has bled a lot.
Green hill - This is who we did our last group order from so most of the gear in the gym is from them. The shoes seem fine but not outstanding. The colour on the jackets holds much better, but the fit is kind of funny and shrinking is a factor. Sending a western union transfer to Pakistan for the last group order seemed a bit sketchy but it worked out ok. This would likely get us the lowest price.
Stels - I haven’t seen these in person but have heard good things and think they look super rad. They have a great 80’s throwback aesthetic.
Absolute Force - The jackets these guys make are pretty universally disliked, but the shoes are not bad. I owned a pair previously and liked them. They are much more robust than the Krepish ya’s. They are thicker with more padding, closer to a wrestling boot.
Anyway, not pressure but feel free to have a look and see what you think. Keep in mind that for Combat Wrestling you can wear wrestling shoes, not only sambo shoes. Wrestling shoes offer A LOT more grip and this can be a big advantage but, it also puts your knees at risk in certain circumstances.
